Kakav je osjećaj imati svjetsku premijeru filma ''Praznik rada'' i ujedno time zatvoriti 28. Sarajevo Film Festival? Osjećaj je odličan. Mislim da ne postoji bolje mjesto za premijeru našeg filma nego što je to Sarajevo Film Festival. Uz to dobiti tu čast da naša filmska priča bude završni akord jedne tako lijepe i dinamične kompozicije kakav je bio ovogodišnji festival je naprosto - fantastično. Šta posebno pamtite sa Sarajevo Film Festivala? Sa naročitim emocijama se sjećam prvih festivala, entuzijazma i zanosa koji je došao sa krajem opsade grada. Vremena kada se učilo kako se pravi veliki festival, kada nije bilo bitno što nema hotela ni ulične rasvjete, pa je, recimo, bilo normalno da Alfonso Cuarón, kao gost festivala, spava kod mene kući. Naprosto smo uživali. Ne čudi me što je festival izrastao u ono što je sada, jer je u njega uloženo toliko ljubavi, strasti ali i ozbiljnosti i volje za učenjem i napretkom da je uspjeh bio neizbježan. Ako bih morao izdvojiti jednu stvar, to je ipak projekcija mog prvog filma 'Gori vatra' u otvorenom kinu. To je nivo uzbuđenja koje se doživi jednom u životu. Po čemu ćete pamtiti snimanje ovog filma, šta ga je obilježilo? Po divnoj saradnji sa fenomenalnom glumačkom ekipom, po silnoj podršci i razumjevanju autorskog i produkcijskog tima i po pandemiji. Snažan, skladan tim nasuprot uporne, opasne bolesti, bila je dinamika tog snimanja. Na kraju imamo film i svi smo živi i zdravi. Druga stvar po kojoj ću pamtiti ovo snimanje je ogromno razumijevanje stanovnika Bjelava, komšiluka u kom smo snimali. Oni su nam omogućili da se osjećamo kao da snimamo u studiju, tako što su na nekoliko nedelja svoj život potpuno prilagodili potrebama filmske ekipe. To nije lako. Hvala im. Šta je bila inspiracija da napravite ovaj film? Frustracija činjenicom da iz mog grada, moje zemlje, život otiče kao krv iz otvorene rane, a da se živi kao da se to događa nekom drugom bili su ključni razlozi zašto sam mislio da ova priča mora biti ispričana. Bilo bi lijepo snimti opuštenu komediju ili akcionu etidu univerzalnim moralnim principima, ali danas, ovdje, to bi bilo pomalo neodgovorno, bar sa mog ličnog aspekta. Plašim se za nas, ne samo u Bosni, ali vjerujem da je ostalo dovoljno razuma da se uradi ispravna stvar. Jedna od prvih je pogledati istini u oči. Rekli ste da je muzika važan segment filma. Šta će publika čuti i vidjeti u Prazniku rada? Iz svijeta muzike sam ušao u svijet filma i muzika u mom radu ima posebno važno mjesto, kroz cijeli proces rada na filmu, ne samo u postprodukciji. Muzika ima važno mjesto još dok razvijam priču, pišem prve verzije scenarija. U ranoj fazi rada u projekat uvodim kompozitora, sa njim razvijam zvuk, a time i emociju filma, što je moj osnovni prostor interesa. Volim da imam song koji je vezan uz film. Tako je bilo u ranijim filmovima, pa i u ovom. Imao sam odličnu saradnju sa kompozitorom mlađe generacije, Dinom Šukalom, fantastičnim umjetnikom. Naročito mi je drago što smo imali vremena i mogućnosti da muziku snimamo 'starinski', u analognom studiju, sa divnim instrumentalistima i vokalnim solistima. Mislim da je to jako doprinijelo autentičnosti ambijenta i snazi emocija u filmu.

How does it feel to have the world premiere of the film “May Labour Day” and close the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival with it? It feels great. I think that there is no better place than the SFF for the premiere of our film, plus to receive the honor of having our film narrative be the final chord of such a beautiful and dynamic composition as this year's festival is simply - fantastic. What do you remember from the Sarajevo Film Festival? It is with special emotions that I think back over the first festivals, the enthusiasm and the rapture that came with the end of the city siege. The times when one learned how to make a big festival, when it didn't matter that there were no hotels or street lights, so, for example, it was normal for Alfonso Cuaron, as a guest of the festival, to sleep at my house. We simply enjoyed ourselves. I am not surprised that the festival evolved into what it is now, because so much love, passion, but also seriousness and the will to learn and progress, have been invested in it that success was but inevitable. If I had to single out one thing, it would be the screening of my first film “Fuse” in the outdoor cinema. That is a once-in-a-lifetime level of excitement. How will you remember the making of this film, what marked it for you? The wonderful cooperation with the phenomenal cast, the immense support and understanding of the author and production team, and the pandemic. A strong, harmonious team against a persistent, dangerous disease, was the dynamic of that filming. At the end of the day, we have the film and we are all alive and well. The second thing I will remember about this filming is the huge understanding from the residents of Bjelave, the neighborhood where we were filming. They made it possible for us to feel like we were filming in a studio by adapting their lives for a few weeks completely to the needs of the film crew, which is not easy. Thanks to them indeed. What was the inspiration to make this film? Frustration with the fact that in my city, my country, life flows out like blood from an open wound, and that life goes on as if it were happening to someone else is the key reason why I thought this story must be told. It would be nice to film a relaxed comedy or an action étude with universal moral principles, but nowadays, here, it would be somewhat irresponsible, at least from my personal point of view. I fear for us, not only in Bosnia, but I believe that there is enough reason left to do the right thing. One of the first would be: to look the truth in the eye. You said that music is an important segment of the film. What is the audience about to hear and see in “May Labour Day”? From the world of music, I entered the world of film, and music holds a particularly important place in my work, throughout the entire process of working on a film, not only in post-production. Music has its important place already while I am developing the narrative, and writing the initial versions of the script. In the early stages of the work, I am introducing the composer to the project, alongside them I am developing the sound, and thereby also the emotion of the film, which is my basic area of interest. I love having a song that is associated with the film. That is how it was like in the earlier films, and so it is in this one as well. I had an excellent collaboration with a composer from a younger generation, Dino Šukalo, a fantastic artist. I'm especially glad that we had the time and the opportunity to record the music the old-school way, in an analog recording studio, with wonderful instrumentalists and vocal soloists. I think that this contributed greatly to the authenticity of the setting and the power of emotions in the film.

U filmu GENTLE, mađarskog rediteljskog dvojca Anne Eszter Nemes i Lászlóa Csuja, glavna junakinja je bodibilderska šampionka koja nas magnetično uvodi u svijet mišića i snage. U svijetu elitnog ženskog bodibildinga, postoji prostor za nježnost, a upravo tu stranu glavne junakinje Edine upoznajemo tokom njenih priprema za natjecanje. Njena potraga za nemogućim tijelom ugrozit će njenu slobodu, a to će tek spoznati kada se otisne u svijet eskorta da bi zaradila novac za svoju strast. Film je premijerno prikazan na filmskom festivalu u Sundanceu, a nakon toga i na festivalu u Berlinu.

Na filmskom festivalu u Berlinu u glavnoj konkurenciji našao se i novi film kultnog austrijskog reditelja Urlicha Seidla RIMINI. Seidl ovaj put donosi priču o starenju kroz tačku gledišta ostarjelog hotelskog pjevača koji je karijeru ostvario pjevajući njemačkim i austrijskim turistima po hotelima Riminija, a sanjajući o karijeri velike zvijezde. Glavni junak Ritchie Bravo nije samo pjevač, on je i žigolo, dok također i iznajmljuje svoju kuću turistima oslanjajući se na svoju staru slavu pjevača pop balada. U ovom filmu Seidl iznenađuje emocijama jer se ne libi približiti glavnom junaku koji je drag baš onoliko koliko i iritantan.

MIRACLE
Debutante Christos Massalas presents his film BROADWAY, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and plays with the codes of thrillers, musicals and social drama. The film is set in Athens in the midst of an economic crisis, and the film is a fun but cruel mirror of contemporary society. The film is a hybrid mixture of an energetic story, an unusual film noir, centered on a love story, but also the story of freedom.
In the film GENTLE, directed by the Hungarian duo Anna Eszter Nemes and László Csuja, the main heroine is a bodybuilding champion who magnetically introduces us to the world of muscles and strength. In the world of elite female bodybuilding, there is room for tenderness, and this is exactly the side of Edina's main character we meet during her preparations for the competition. Her pursuit of an impossible body will jeopardize her freedom, and she will know that only when she enters the world of escorts to earn money for her passion. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, followed by the Berlin Film Festival.
The Berlin Film Festival also featured a new film in the main roster by the cult Austrian director Urlich Seidl RIMINI. This time Seidl brings the story of aging through the point of view of an aging hotel singer who has made his career singing to German and Austrian tourists in Rimini's hotels, and dreaming of a career as a big star. The main hero Ritchie Bravo is not only a singer, he is also a gigolo, while he also rents his house to tourists relying on his old fame as a pop ballad singer. In this film, Seidl surprises with emotions because he does not want to get close to the main character who is as nice as he is annoying.

U promet pušten prvi pametni reciklomat u BiH
Predsjednik Turističke zajednice Kantona Sarajevo Kenan Magoda sa partnerima projekta „Reciklomat“ - Sarajevo Film Festival, Pomozi.ba, KJKP Rad i KJKP Park pustili su u promet prvi pametni reciklomati ispred Doma oružanih snaga BiH u Sarajevu. U promet su jučer puštena tri reciklomata: početni cilj je iskoristiti 10.000 boca za vrijeme Sarajevo Film Festivala, jer upravo je to vrijeme kada je najveća posjeta turista u gradu. “Radimo na promociji Sarajeva kao ekološki osvještenog grada, te ćemo nastaviti pratiti svjetske ekološke trendove“, kazao je Magoda. Za vrijeme trajanja Sarajevo Film Festivala reciklažom je moguće dobiti ulaznice za filmske projekcije, ali i pomoći socijalno potrebnim stanovnicima u cijeloj Bosni i Hercegovini birajući opciju donacije Pomozi.ba koja je uključena u proces reciklaže. Recikiranje je vrlo jednostavno budući da se radi o pametnim uređajima koji prepoznaju ambalažu, vrše sortiranje te preciziraju donaciju. Nakon završetka Sarajevo Film Festivala, pored humaninarne opcije za Udruženje Pomozi.ba, reciklažom će se moći ostvariti pogodnosti poput besplatnog parkinga na mjestima kojima upravlja preduzuće Rad, te pogodnosti na zabavnom centru Pionirske doline kojom upravlja preduzeće Park. U planu je postavka reciklomata u Sarajevo City Centru i Grand Centru Ilidža a poziv je otvoren i za ostale društveno odgovorne kompanije iz javnog i privatnog sektora koji su spremni za iskorak u podizanju ekološke svijesti, očuvanju i zaštiti životne sredine da budu dio ovog projekta. Građane i turiste pozivamo da aktivno učestvuju u recikliranju otpada u cilju poboljšanja čistoće grada, daju doprinost u humanitarnim akcijama ali i ostvare pogodnosti pri korištenju usluga partnera ovog projekta.
First smart recycle vending machine released in BiH
President of the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton Kenan Magoda and partners of the project "Reciklomat" - Sarajevo Film Festival, Pomozi.ba, KJKP Rad and KJKP Park, released the first smart recycle vending machine /orig. reciklomat/ in front of the Army Hall BiH /orig. Dom oružanih snaga BiH/ in Sarajevo. Three smart recycle vending machines were released yesterday: the initial goal is to use 10,000 bottles during the Sarajevo Film Festival, because that is the time when most tourists visit the city. "We are working to promote Sarajevo as an environmentally conscious city, and we will continue to monitor global environmental trends," Magoda said. During the Sarajevo Film Festival, it is possible to get tickets for film screenings by recycling, but also to help welfare residents throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina by choosing the option of donating via Pomozi.ba which is included in the recycling process. Recycling is very simple because these are smart devices that recognize the packaging, perform sorting and specify the donation. After the end of Sarajevo Film Festival, in addition to the humanistic option via the Association Pomozi.ba, by recycling you will be able to obtain benefits such as free parking in places managed by the company Rad, and benefits at the entertainment center of the Pioneer Valley managed by the company Park. The plan is to set up recycle vending machines in Sarajevo City Center and Grand Center Ilidža, and the invitation is also open to other socially responsible companies from both public and private sectors that are ready to take a step forward in raising environmental awareness, preserving and protecting the environment to be part of this project. We invite citizens and tourists to actively participate in the recycling of waste in order to improve the cleanliness of the city, contribute to humanitarian campaigns, but also to benefit from the services of the partners of this project.
